Today’s theme is “vinyl records I remember”… and we’re talking about when my interest in music took off around 1988 when, as an 8-year-old, I started to develop my own taste in music, first with cassette tapes recorded from the radio or from my kind brother who supplied me with various mixtapes.

Pretty soon I started buying my own records, and then it was vinyl records that were the thing. My weekly allowance was probably on par with most others at the time, 10 kronor to begin with (you know, the actual ten-kronor bills) and a trip to the nearby B&W at our big shopping centre could mean that I found cheap sale records, mostly singles, but also the occasional LP… and how does an 8-10 year old buy their music? Well, of course mostly based on the album cover, but also, now and then, based on some artist I had heard a song by on the radio…

So with this long introduction to today’s songs, here comes:

Swing the mood – Jive Bunny and the mastermixers

Do the Bartman – from Simpsons

Jimmy Dean – Troll

Jag mår illa – Magnus Uggla

Du får aldrig nog – Dag Vag

Yes, and then some kind of bonus on this… hmm… so that it won’t just be a nostalgia trip back to the late 80s, today’s bonus will be an entire album… one that I bought newly pressed on a yellow vinyl record around 2005.

Bonus-record

Enjoy!
