Every now and then an old track shows up on my radar, and I’m like – how could I’ve missed this? This track is one of those, Glass Animals:

December 2nd calls for a little energy boost for me, so today’s song is from Will Smith’s daughter Willow. Strong lyrics, a nice groove and a catchy tune!
Enjoy!

A rerun of last year’s Christmas calendar from the World of music!
As with last year, a calendar completely free of Christmas songs is promised! 🙂 Not to diss Christmas music in any way, but because you probably get enough of that stuff during December anyway!
First up in this year’s calendar is fairly fresh music from Adele and the album 30… the whole album is highly recommended, but the song below is my favorite after listening to it a few times over the past week…
Enjoy!

Today’s post is a little reflection.
I’ve done both live gigs and studio recordings.
The advantage of doing live gigs is that all mistakes (both as a sound engineer and as a musician) happen right then and there, and then they no longer exist. The advantage of studio recordings and music production is that any mistakes can be corrected afterwards and then also cease to exist.
Therefore, I have the utmost respect for the artists and technicians who do live gigs, it’s the most difficult thing to do… then add to this the act of actually recording the live gig. That is, saving the live gig for the future, as it happened… hats off, brave and well done! Today’s songs are therefore a selection of live recordings.
First up is:
Then comes:
Back to the Family – Jethro Tull
A giant not to be overlooked (goosebumps warning!):
The above comes from a completely wonderful playlist…
Last out in today’s selection of songs will be:
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonley Hearts Club Band – Paul McCartney tillsammans med U2
The above comes from another great live playlist…
So, a bonus on the theme, what does it look like? Well, it looks like this!
Enjoy!

At first, I thought I’d dedicate this post to old 45 rpm vinyl records, like the ones I had as a kid, but then I felt, nah, I’m not really in a nostalgic mood today, so instead it’ll be something completely different that’s first up today…
But something that might have been on a 45 vinyl once upon a time:
Then an old favorite artist, doing an old favorite song, but in their own special way of course…
Ain’t no sunshine – Eva Cassidy
Last out today will be:
…how do you top that with a bonus? Well, like this of course!
Enjoy!

Alright friends… so it’s time for post number 44…
Today I’ve been thinking a bit about what to dig out from the vaults.
As you may know by now, I have a soft spot for electronic music, mainstream or niche – it doesn’t matter… but something new to me, even though the album was released a few years ago, is an old acquaintance of mine who I didn’t know had released music, a man with great integrity and an artist’s soul…
Next up is also electronic, the SkĂĄne-based Familjen, from the third album.
Continuing with electronic and SkĂĄne… (gotta keep the SkĂĄne-flag as high and proud as possible!)
So, how do I round off such a cavalcade with synths and a bit of a Scanian focus? Well, it feels like there’s only one way… Stay put, but still change completely! Because synths are still a marvel of technology, right?
So, and a bonus on top of this? What could it be?
Enjoy!

I’ve been looking forward to writing this post for a while… feels like I’ve found some really great songs! 🙂
First up today is a Swedish, naked, stripped down, honest song that feels like it comes straight from the heart:
The second song continues with Swedish, the new version of September (which doesn’t feel so new anymore) in the form of Petra Marklund…
Farmors Händer – Petra Marklund
Next up is a (in my opinion) mix of Prince (later ‘the symbol’) and Stevie Wonder:
Last out today will be this one:
Old Soul – Colin Macleod och Sheryl Crow
Bonus today will be a song without a picture (i.e. not from YouTube, as usual)…
Enjoy!

I’ve been thinking for a while about changing the naming standard for the posts. One post per week sometimes works, sometimes not… so instead of me trying to keep up, getting a bad conscience when I don’t, forcing something out just to make a post, I’m thinking… hmm… serial number per post, so they come when they come! Sound good? That’s how it’s going to be anyway! 🙂 But the number 42 is taken completely out of the air, because I actually already have 59 posts, which would make this number 60, but well, 42 sounds a little better… and will also be the theme for the day.
First song out: Towel – The Wildlife
Second song will be: Hitchhiker – Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown
Third song: 42 – Mumford & Sons
Fourth song: Sad robot – Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur
…and of course, a bonus…
Enjoy!

If you’ve been following along here for a while, you know I have a weakness for nice synths…
Johnny and Mary – Stockholm Nightlife
Then one might think that it’s a celebration of Jesus’ mother when one Mary is followed by another, but there was no such thought today…
Unexpected title, from a cool artist:
…and to tie back a bit to where I started, with nice synths, I also have a weakness for the 303… even though I don’t think this is actually a 303, the influences are there, in my opinion…
…and of course a bonus today as well!
Enjoy!

It’s rumored that she’s going to quit, which I hope she’s not singing about in this heavy song:
Trouble of the World – Sinead O’Conner
Next up is someone who might be about to do a Lindsey? (only chosen as a reminder of the current Disney film about Cruella)
Then a title and song that perhaps many recognize from before, and which exists in countless versions, so why another one? Well, I thought this one was a little different from the others… and it fit in with the two above, partly because of the hurdy-gurdy and partly the depressing picture of the world…
Last out, before the usual ending, gets a little more hopeful:
..and what would the World of music be without a Bonus?
Enjoy!
